Biography:
Beth Brookfield (beth.brookfield@gmail.com) For all inquiries, please contact Glen Dunlap (glendunlap@sbcglobal.net, or call tele. 775-786-9319) Reno artist Beth Brookfield provides a collection of completed paintings including landscapes, figurative abstracts and commentarial social realism. The fine art paintings have strong colors and unexpected compositions or points of views. The compositions are intended to be depictions of a human perspective of nature, or commentary of human interaction with and against nature, or simply nature itself. Both her realism work and representational abstractions reflect her desire to express “a balance between the appreciation of nature, humor and seriousness of world conditions and events as humans impact the world and each other.” Photography, music compositions with lyrics, and drawing were the primary mediums used and studied by Brookfield until oil painting became her principal medium in 1997. Though, both the tendencies and style of her photography, music, and drawing are evident in her painted art works. Brookfield has completed works of commission for portraits and realism scenes. Other works have been purchased by donation from auction to national and community organizations. Her work has sold to locals of the Sierra Nevada region and nationally. Her work can be viewed at the Medio Mundo Women's Art Gallery in Reno, Nevada ( Medio Mundo, 205 Vassar St, Reno, NV, 89502 - (775) 324-5900) Currently, the artist accepts commissions for portraits, landscapes, abstractions and design work (including working only from photographs).
